iSkateBoard Blackberry

The Solution

GPS based client-server Blackberry app allowing users (skaters) to easily find skate shops, skate spots and skate parks, that are nearby with GPS functionality up to 50 miles. To develop this great app we used BlackBerry SDK, Asp.Net, Objective C and MS SQL Server. Among the features are: GPS navigation of your current location; Geo-coding (allows you to find a certain store or facility location on the map based on the address you’ve entered); advertisement; ImagePicker (gives you direct access to your picture gallery saved on your Blackberry without leaving iSkateBoard); Lazy loading developed for loading various lists of locations. There are RSS News section, Forum, Photo gallery and Video section in the app.Location services are available both manually and automatically. iSkateboard offers one of the most functional skateboard directory available, it covers thousands locations in US and Australia for skateboard fans. This app gives you access to additional information like corporate websites and contact info for some of the stores and facilities listed, and provides you with an integrated news feed.
